Saw Palmetto is a small palm like tree that bare dark red berry. It is a hardy plant that grows in the sub-tropical climates. Mostly seen in Southeastern United States and Mexico. The stalk of the plant has fine, sharp teeth like a saw. Hence its name “Saw Palmetto”. Native Indians used these too.
Qualities: According to some studies, saw palmetto may be effective in decreasing symptoms of an enlarged prostate. It is used alongside other herbs to treat certain prostate infections.
Saw palmetto is also used for relief of cold symptoms, coughs, sore throat, and headaches, as well as a natural diuretic and to promote relaxation.
